LNU Wildnews Bulletin Cancellations due to Weather Warnings. I included weather warnings in the last Wildnews Bulletin and these are still active. See: Met office weather warnings East Midlands - Friday 9th, Saturday 10th. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings The high winds expected could make fieldwork unsafe. In view of the possible risks the LNU Field Meeting has been cancelled and rescheduled, and so has the Lincoln Area Group visit to Snipe Dales - see the Wildlife Trust website for that information. In future I suggest that rather than relying on email, we post details of LNU cancellations on the LNU website so everyone can pick on on that information if they suspect the we may be forced to cancel. I could also mirror this information on http://rogerparsons.info/bulletinportal.html if that would be helpful. Brian Hedley writes: After careful consideration and consultation with the landowner, due to the forecast high winds this Saturday, I've thought it best to postpone the LNU field meeting to Glebe Farm (East Keal). The winds will make collecting/pressing of LLP specimens very difficult and the landowner has expressed concerns about several large dying ash trees on site. I thought about Saturday 31st August as an alternative date and have just had confirmation that date is OK with the landowner. Details will be confirmed in the next Bulletin. Please pass on this information where appropriate. Thanks Roger Parsons old.museum@yahoo.co.uk http://rogerparsons.info/
